Headache Relief and SPG Nerve Blocks
Though widely accepted as effective, SPG blocks are not popular with physicians because the traditional methods are painful for the patient and demanding for the caregiver. The new method using the Tx360 eliminates those concerns. After a brief medical exam the simple procedure is as follows:
- The patient will remain seated during the procedure.
- The device will be placed into one nostril and the catheter will be advanced.
- The numbing medication (0.3 cc of 0.5% bupivacaine) will be pushed through the syringe, and then the catheter will be taken out.
- This will be repeated with the other nostril.
NOTE: The procedure takes between 10-20 seconds and you can leave after the procedure is completed. These blocks are given 2 to 3 times per week for a period of 4 to 6 weeks.
